Seasonal Flowers For A Spring Wedding
Following my previous blog on wedding flowers, I am taking a look at the seasonal blooms available for your wedding in spring.
This is a time of year when so many beautiful flowers are available in abundance.
If you are saying “I do” in March, April or May you will really be spoilt for choice!
This iconic spring flower comes in a wide variety of colours, and looks stunning in bouquets and table arrangements.
My particular favourites are the parrot tulips with their frilled petals.
Availability from October – June.Hyacinths
These highly fragranced blooms consisting of dense bell shaped flowers are available in a variety of colours from November to May.
When it comes to romantic wedding flowers the peony has it all. . . each flower has densely packed petals with a beautiful scent. They are perfect if you are looking for a larger style bouquet.
Available from February – July.Ranunculus
Also known as a Persian buttercup, the pretty ranunculus flower is long lasting which makes it perfect for a wedding bouquet.
It has delicate paper thin petals in a variety of colours and is available from October to June.
Lily Of The Valley
With delicate bell shaped flowers and beautiful scent, the lily of the valley will complement any style of wedding dress.
Available in white or pink from March to May.Sweet Pea
Lightly scented with delicate petals, the sweet pea is a popular favourite for weddings. It can be used as the main flower, or as a filler within a larger bouquet.
Available in a range of colours from March to August.Anemone
Colourful anemones have lots of visual appeal and look great both in bouquets and table arrangements.
They are available from September to May.
