Key Wedding Dress Trends In 2023

90 ‘s Silhouettes

Industry experts predict that key wedding dress trends in 2023 will see a shift towards simpler, barer silhouettes.

The minimalism of the 90’s will be a key point of inspiration. Over-embellishing will be taking a backseat, and classic laces and satins are moving back in.

White gowns that are bare and body-skimming; spaghetti straps and liquid skirts will come more prominently into favour as brides adopt a less-is-more mentality.

High Necklines

High necklines, inspired by iconic wedding dresses such as Grace Kelly’s Helen Rose gown, and Catherine, Princess of Wales’s Alexander McQueen design, remain as popular as ever.

70’s-inspired halter necks are also back in style.

Soft Colours

It’s unlikely that we’ll ever stop getting married in white, but soft pastel colours are becoming popular with modern brides.

In 2023, consider expanding your horizons towards a palette of soft pastels that can be equally romantic and regal.

Think soft silvers, blush pinks, and latte tones.

Shorter Hemlines

The upcoming season will see brides wearing more ankle length or even shorter gowns, worn either at the official ceremony or the reception.

Some shorter dresses will nod to vintage silhouettes, from the 40’s and 50’s.

They can also be worn as an outfit change, to take the bride into the evening reception.

Gloves

Opera gloves are coming back in 2023, they were seen all over the runway during Paris Fashion Week.

This vintage accessory is reminiscent of style icons such as Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor.

Seen recently on many celebrity brides, they can be both elegant and edgy!

Feathers

Many designers are using delicate flowing feathers as an embellishment.

Inspired by 1920’s fashion they emphasise romance and glamour.
