Here at Capesthorne Hall we are delighted to be hosting our first Wedding Open Day of 2022 on Sunday 9th January, when we will be showcasing our wedding facilities and accommodation.

When you are viewing potential wedding venues, there are several key questions to ask in order to come away with the essential information you need before you make your final decision.

You will probably look at several venues before you decide on where you would like to get married, it is important to ask the following before you make your booking.

Is Your Chosen Date Available?

You may have some flexibility with regard to dates, but if you have your heart set on a particular date this is first and foremost the most important question.

How Long Can I Provisionally Hold a Date For?

It’s important to put a provisional hold on your chosen date to avoid the disappointment of someone else booking it before you. This is especially important if you are getting married in peak season and your chosen date is likely to be in demand. Most venues will normally ask for a deposit at this time in order to secure your date.

How Many Guests Can You Accommodate?

Make sure you have a general idea of guest numbers before going to view your venue, in order to make sure the venue capacity is suitable for your requirements.

Is The Venue Licensed For Civil Ceremonies?

If you wish to have your ceremony and reception all under one roof, you will need to make sure the venue has a license to hold civil ceremonies.

Will We Have Exclusive Use Of The Venue?

Be aware that some venues can hold more than one wedding on a given date.

If you wish to have a private wedding with full exclusive use of the venue, grounds, and staff, this is one of the first questions to ask before you arrange a viewing.

Do You Have Accommodation On Site?

This is essential if you have family and friends who will be travelling from further afield, and will wish to stay overnight at the venue.

Even if you think you have asked everything, you are bound to have more questions that you think of later.
