If you’re a bride who loves to be on trend, then you’ll be excited to learn Pantone have revealed their Color of the Year for 2019; Living Coral.

I am really excited by this. The Pantone Color Institute explores seasonal runway colours and predicts global colour trends by scouring the world for new colour influences. These could be films and other areas of the entertainment industry, new artists and fashions, traveling art collections and popular travel destinations. So, when they highlight the importance of a colour the rest of us should take notice.

And I love the reason why Living Coral is next year’s choice. In this technological age we find ourselves in, we need an escape from the sterile colours we get from screens. Living Coral is a natural, nurturing colour that “encourages light-hearted activity” and “embodies our desire for playful expression.” Which is exactly what we want for our wedding?

Another great element of the colour is the ease you can incorporate it into your wedding. You can go big and use it everywhere or just have hints, subtly tying everything together. If you’re getting married next year here are some ideas to inspire you.

Flowers

Flowers are a perfect way to have Living Coral in every aspect of your wedding from your flowers to your tablescapes. Whatever your favourite flower is, I’ll bet you can find a shade, or shades, of coral that will blend with white and green for a stunning look.

Bridesmaids

I’m not going to pretend shades of coral are new and you’ve never seen them before. It’s always been a popular shade for bridesmaid dresses but now they are totally on trend and a must have for the fashion-conscious bride.

Drinks

If you want a bit of fun with this then serve your guests Tequila Sunrises when they arrive at your party. You just need;

2oz of tequila

4oz of orange juice

½ oz grenadine

Mix the tequila and orange juice first then pour in the grenadine. It’ll sink to the bottom giving you that fresh coral look.

Makeup

Building your makeup palette around this colour will give you a youthful appearance. Clean colours with coral lips or nails will give you a romantic, innocent look. Perfect for any bride.
