Spring Cocktails for a Spring Wedding

Having a spring wedding? Fancy something other than wine? Then, here are some great spring cocktails for a spring wedding to get your taste buds tingling.

Mint Julep

3 sprigs of mint

Bourbon

Simple syrup

Crushed ice

Put 2 of the mint sprigs in a glass with the simple syrup then fill the glass ¾ full with crushed ice. Add the bourbon and stir. Then fill the glass with more crushed ice and the remaining sprig of mint. What could be more refreshing than that?

Whisky Sour

Here’s another refreshing whiskey cocktails. All it needs is,

Whisky

Fresh lemon juice

Simple syrup

A cherry for garnish

Shake it all together with some ice and it’s done. As a cheeky optional extra, you could chuck a little egg white in it. It takes the edge off sour, mellowing the drink a bit. Just make sure you shake your cocktail for at least 30 seconds before serving.

Cranberry Daiquiri

A twist on a traditional daiquiri, this one celebrates cranberries. I know we associate cranberries with Christmas, but they have a bright tang which compliments the lime and won’t taste a bit wintery.

Rum

Elderflower syrup (or St. Germain’s liqueur)

Cranberry and lime juices

Tarragon

Cucumber-Rosemary Gin and Tonic

If gin and tonic is your tipple of choice, then adding cucumber gives it a lift. Have you considered trying a sprig of rosemary as well? It’s a very aromatic herb and will conjure up memories of spring gardens in bloom.

Gin

Tonic

Cucumber

A sprig of rosemary

French 75

Nothing says celebration quite like champagne. Mixed with gin and lemon, this will spark up your taste buds like nothing else. You just need,

Dry gin

Superfine sugar

Lemon juice

Champagne

Raspberry Prosecco Bellini

If, like me, you’ve been converted to Prosecco then this is the one for you. Doubly so for me because I love raspberries.

Raspberry liqueur

Prosecco

Sprig of basil

These are just a few of the great cocktails out there. Maybe you have a favourite or want cocktails served to your guests on arrival. Just let Capesthorne’s caterers know and they’ll work with you.

And if you’re a non-drinker, keep your eyes peeled for my favourite mocktails coming soon.
