Autumn Weddings
Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I love the slight chill in the air even though it’s sunny and I find the blustery wind invigorating. Most of all, I love the colours. They’re so warm, it’s an array of colours we don’t get any other time of the year. This makes autumn colours ideal for a wedding, and there are so many ways you can incorporate them into your design.
Wedding invitations are more works of art than stationary. These ones include the colours and leaf motif that we associate with autumn and are incredibly eye catching.
There are also many ways you can use the season to decorate. An arch of seasonal plants and foliage will provide a dramatic backdrop for your pictures.
The use of pumpkins will really strike the right note on your big day. Whether you use them as part of an overall display or make them the whole centrepiece is up to you.
Playing around with materials can also produce some striking effects. Mixing glass pumpkins with real ones and tying them together with fairy lights will create a magnificently warm and inviting look to your tables.
Even though this is the time of year plants begin winding down to hibernate, there are still plenty of lush flowers for you to choose from. Combine your autumnal flowers with long steams of wheat and grasses for a unique bouquet.
A floral crown is ideal for the autumn bride. They bring colour and the aura of being in touch with nature. Match the flowers in your crown to your bouquet to bring everything together.
Mix and matching bridesmaid dresses are a popular trend, and this is an excellent time of year to use it for maximum impact. Combining reds, oranges, browns and greens, you will find a shade to suit all skin tones.
Psychologically, those colours are also quite warming—just the thing to ward off that biting autumn air.
