Choosing Your Wedding Photographer
For every Bride and Groom it’s important to capture all the special memories of their wedding day. Choosing who to record this most important day in your life is a crucial decision.
Here are my top tips to help you find your wedding photographer:
Photography Style
I would advise that you look at a few different options before you decide which is the photographer for you.
Have a look at their portfolios and see who you have an affinity with. Whether you are looking for a relaxed informal style, or a more quirky and artistic approach, ask them to show you lots of their previous work, not just the images they choose to put on their website.
Personality
Make time to meet with your chosen photographer in advance, and make sure you feel an affinity with them. This is very important as you need to feel relaxed and happy while they are taking those all important photographs. If you feel awkward in their presence it is bound to show in the finished result.
A genuine smile is impossible to fake, this also applies to your wedding guests. You also want them to feel comfortable while the photographer is taking shots throughout the day.
It can be an advantage to choose a photographer who has experience of working at your chosen venue.
Here at Capesthorne Hall, we have several photographers we can recommend to our couples who have valuable experience of working within our surroundings. It can make all the difference as they will be familiar with different areas and features of the buildings and surrounding areas to make your wedding memories extra special.
Discuss The Finer Details
Decide on the package you require, do you wish to have a wedding video also? Make sure you know the different packages on offer and ask for an exact cost.
Find out how long the photographer will be spending at the wedding venue, and talk about any particular requests you may have, eg a firework sparkler shot.
Many photographers offer a pre wedding/ engagement shoot, and this can be a great way for you decide if they are right for your wedding day.
