Halloween Weddings

Did you know that in October it’s illegal to read or watch anything other than horror? Alright, I made that up, but for those us who love Halloween and being scared, this is the perfect month to indulge our passion and have some fun. If you’re wedding is around Halloween, you can use any or all of these as inspiration to let your spooky side run wild.

Wedding Invitations

There are so many really funky wedding invitations for Halloween weddings, using the theme in either a playful or serious gothic way. I think these would serve as keepsakes as well as wedding invites.

Wedding Cakes

Whether you are having a Halloween dominated wedding or just using elements of it, there is bound to be a cake style to suit. I love the one with the bats because it’s a variation on the popular theme of cascading flowers or butterflies, while the one from NotQuiteNigella could come straight from Miss Havisham in Great Expectations.

Flowers

You can have lots of fun with the flowers. Black flowers aren’t a common thing, so you may have to use silk ones which are both environmentally friendly and a permanent token from your day. If you want real flowers, red roses or white lilies would complement your theme.

Make Up

Depending on just how fully you’re embracing the Halloween theme, you might want to ditch the traditional make-up for something more appropriate. Vampires, zombies, skeletons, whatever, have you and your partner made up as your favourite monster.

If that isn’t for you, then Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) masks are a fantastic alternative. Your guests could have one style and you and your husband could have special ones. It is your day after all.

Wedding Dress

A vintage style white dress is perfect for a Halloween themed wedding but there are bolder options available. Each of these would serve as a wedding dress despite being black. Plus, they’re re-wearable for formal events.

Table Pieces and Wedding Favours

If you wanted to celebrate Halloween in a subtle way, then table decorations and favours are the way to go. Nothing is going to make your wedding stand out more than a cobweb-decorated table with alternative Halloween photo booth props for your guests.
