Hats and Fascinators

This week, instead of focusing on the bride and groom or their wedding, I want to look at fashion for guests. If you’ve got a wedding this year then you’ll be thinking about headgear. This season there are some beautiful choices in hats and fascinators for you.

Big

I’m one of those people who thinks if you’re going to do something, do it big. Here are some large hats for maximum impact.

A black hat with curled organza trim, this style from Hatbox has a classic look that never goes out of style. This hat also comes in ivory if that matches your colour scheme better.

Or, for a lighter colour, this hat from Debut has a large diamante flower for depth and sparkle.

This second hat from Debut is a combination of the two, navy and pink, which gives you more scope of colours you can wear it with.

Height

Of course, you don’t have to make an impact with width. You can also pick height for a stylish wedding look.

This hat offers height as well as width with feather flowers and ribbon hoops.

With a multi-tonal saucer, this hat contrasts colours so it works with dark or light dresses.

Technically, this is a fascinator rather than a hat, with a satin covered headband, feather flowers and crystal details.

Another example from Jenny Packham is this saucer fascinator with bow and crystal features.

Fascinators

Here are some more traditional fascinators, a little smaller for those who want a subtle something for their heads.

This bow fascinator is lifted from a simple statement with the addition of feathers to give height to the bow.

If you liked the second Debut hat in the Big section, but don’t want something of that size, here is the fascinator version.

This is a stylish pale mauve fascinator with a loop design made from a light mesh material.

This natural two-tone fascinator has a feather flower and loop detail. It’s neutral shades give you scope to wear it with lots of different colours.

Fascinator Clips

While researching hats for this blog, I came across a trend for large clips that are similar to fascinators but smaller. Incredibly flexible, you can wear these gorgeous little clips wherever it’s comfortable for you.

Made from organza, this fascinator is shaped as a flower in delicate grey hues, made even more feminine with the use of flowers.

This is a light gold example of mesh flowers for a subtle look you can use for any occasion.

This delicate fascinator clip has slim loops and feather embellishments for a feminine touch.
