How to have a “Bridgerton” Wedding?

First it was the “Downton” effect, then in 2020 during lockdown, Netflix released “Bridgerton” which was an instant addiction for anyone who watched it.

We all swooned over the lavish sets and costumes, as we followed the story of the lives and loves of debutantes set in Regency London.

Here at Capesthorne Hall it comes as no surprise that Regency wedding details are trending in 2021, and with Bridgerton series 2 on the horizon, this trend looks set to continue.

Here are my top tips to create your very own Bridgerton themed wedding!

Venue

The history and grandeur of a stately home wedding cannot be beaten as the setting for your perfect wedding day venue.

Floral Decorations

Lots of white flowers and greenery would have been the order of the day, the colour white was seen as the symbol of purity and therefore fitting for a wedding day celebration.

White roses, peonies, scented freesias, mixed with greenery including herbs such as rosemary, would be perfect for a regency style wedding bouquet.

When decorating your venue think lavish large displays, especially on your dining tables.

Candles, hanging lanterns, and strings of fairy lights (solar or battery powered are ideal) provide the perfect ambience for dancing  after sunset.

Transport

What better way to make an unforgettable entrance than in a horse drawn carriage.

You don’t need to worry about the weather, as the carriages have glass tops or hoods that can be put up in an instant.

You may also choose to take a romantic carriage ride around the grounds following your wedding breakfast.

Sparkling Tiaras

Whether or not you choose to wear a veil, many brides in 2020 are favouring beautiful headpieces.

Tiaras are especially popular along with Crystal headbands and statement hair clips.

For something extra special as your “something old” why not choose a genuine vintage headpiece which can often be hired as well as purchased.

Afternoon Tea

Why not include the Bridgerton vibes in your pre wedding build up by inviting your bridal party for a traditional afternoon tea.
