Mr and Mrs Grant
Every so often, we like to bring you stories of the happy couples who choose Capesthorne Hall as the venue for their big day. Today, we’d like to share with you some wonderful images from the wedding day of Mr and Mrs Grant. All photographs are courtesy of Chris Morse.
We met at the age of four in primary school, sat at the same classroom table and played Kissy Cat in the playground. As we moved into secondary school we went our separate ways, however, we attended the same city for University but never saw one another until we were both living back home in Bramhall. As our paths crossed for ten years, we finally fell in love when the time was right at the age of twenty-two and five years later we tied the knot.
Our wedding ceremony took place in the fairy tale St. Peters Church in Prestbury, followed by a gorgeous reception in Capesthorne’s stunning stately home on July 1st 2017, where we surrounded ourselves with our amazing family and friends.
The reception started in the main house, welcoming our guests with glasses of Champagne and delicious hors d’oeuvres with the sounds of Jazz filling the room with fun and laughter. The large glass windows filled the room with sunshine which led our guests to enjoy their drinks on the garden terrace, which looked over the spectacular lawn where we took our family wedding photos.
As the guests enjoyed their drinks, Sean and I sneaked off to the lake with our photographer to capture and enjoy a short walk in a picturesque setting, of course with a bottle of Champagne in hand.
Before we knew it, it was time for the Wedding breakfast, which took place in the Lakeside Wing, a modern addition to the stately home and boasts beautiful views of the lake. We had set the scene of romance with high and low top centrepieces offering a warm feel to the room with blossom trees, candles and a selection of hydrangeas and white roses.
Our MC, Howard Wing, guided our guests from the terrace to the lakeside and on their short walk, they could admire even more grounds and gardens which they could later explore with coffee and cake after the meal.
Once the guests had found their seats, Howard introduced the Ushers, Bridesmaids, Bride and Groom to selected music, starting the party off in style. Throughout the breakfast, there was no time for silence as he breaks into song with a number one hit from Michael Buble and from then onwards we had our guests eating, drinking and singing from 5pm to midnight.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to start our lives as Mr & Mrs.
Isn’t that an amazing story? And the pictures speak for themselves; sun, friends and family, and great food.
