Photogenic Capesthorne Hall

When discussing your wedding photos with your photographer, familiarity with your venue will help make your decisions easier. Capesthorne Hall’s idyllic location in the Cheshire countryside has so many picturesque spots, it can be hard to know where to start. So, to help organise your photograph wish list, here are the places we think you shouldn’t miss.

Front Façade

I’ll start with the most obvious, our front. Capesthorne Hall’s front with its courtyard and circular lawn certainly packs a punch when you arrive. Having photos here utilising the raised walkway is an easy choice for some stately outdoor shots.

Lakeside View

Our lake has a regal presence in our gardens, with many vantage points for you to look over it. With you either facing the lake or using it as a backdrop, it will provide tranquillity and peace to your pictures. The Bridge

When the sun sets, the lake’s bridge is the place to be, raising you up into the sun’s line and bathing you in the last of your wedding day’s light for some romantic images.

The Gazebo

Another location overlooking the lake is the Lakeside Gazebo. With a wrought iron gate leading to a bordered walkway, the whole area provides many places for the perfect wedding picture as well as a moment of quiet reflection during the excitement of the day.Woodland Dome

Our woodland dome is a magical, secluded location that is a photographic must-have, especially for spring brides when the ground is carpeted with bluebells. But no matter what season, the woodland dome is a hidden gem for whimsical pictures.  This location is also available for civil ceremonies if you want a location with a difference.

The Chapel

We are blessed to have our very own Chapel on the grounds. Over the years, plants have grown around and up it, giving you colour and history for your shots. The wooden gateway into the Chapel also gives you something special, especially when it’s in full bloom.

Magnificent Fireplaces

Not all of our best locations are outside, though. Inside, we have magnificent open fireplaces, which are ideal for pictures with some Downton Abbey glamour. For winter weddings, a picture in front of a roaring fire is as essential as a picture of the bluebells is for spring brides.

And the stunning fireplace in the Drawing Room was used as a location in the recent Sky One drama Cobra. How about having a famous fireplace in your wedding pictures!

The Piano

Another feature of our Drawing Room is the grand piano in front of the windows. Staging photos around the piano will give them a touch of old-fashioned glamour, perfect for vintage and formal weddings.Grand Staircase

Our staircase provides you with lots of photo opportunities. You can use the stairs to show off your train, lean over the banister to give your partner a kiss, or even arrange your wedding party at different levels. Your options are only limited by your imagination.
