10 Ways to Keep a Bride Happy

  1. ENCOURAGE HER VISION
You don’t have to agree with all her ideas, but being negative will only kill her dream and dampen her spirits

  1. OFFER ASSISTANCE WITH THE SMALL THINGS
Don’t expect to be given grand and meaningful tasks, as the likelihood is she would prefer to have control of those herself. Don’t underestimate the value of being an errand runner!
  1. HELP KEEP HER HEALTHY
When stress levels run high and if she is losing sleep, she will get run down very easily. A sick Bride is not a happy Bride!
  1. DON’T LEAVE HER ALONE WITH FUTURE IN-LAWS!
No matter how well they get along, planning a wedding can feel like having ‘sides’ and as soon as she’s alone with her Grooms side, she’s outnumbered.

  1. DISTRACT WITH NON-WEDDING RELATED THINGS
Remind her of the world outside of wedding planning with fun outings and conversations about others.
  1. DON’T TELL HER SHE IS BEING ‘DIFFICULT’ or ‘CONTROLLING
…however true it may be, saying it doesn’t help anyone! She probably feels like she’s going mad already and to highlight that madness only adds insult to injury.
  1. DON’T TALK BEHIND HER BACK
Try not to complain to others about how difficult she may be being as these things have a way of getting around. Hurting her feelings will taint the whole experience for her. It’s unkind and unnecessary.
  1. DON’T OFFER SUGGESTIONS UNLESS SHE ASKS
She will very quickly feel undermined and out of control.
  1. DON’T WEAR WHITE TO HER WEDDING
…or blush, or cream, or palest pink or anything remotely, loosely or vaguely connected to traditional bridal colours and styles!
  1. MAKE HER LAUGH
But not with jokes about her, the wedding or anything related to it!
