Capesthorne Hall is a historic house owned by the Bromley-Davenport family. The Hall is open to the public between April and October each year on Sundays, Mondays and Bank Holidays. In addition, the house is also used for weddings, parties, filming and other corporate events throughout the year.

A number of park events, such as car shows and music festivals take place over the summer. The Lakeside Café is open to the general public on Open Days, and to parties or small company meetings at other times.

Housekeeper

Cleaner for the Hall and wedding venue, self-catering accommodation and caravan park shower block.

3 days per week including some weekends, minimum of 12 hours per week.

Experience required but not essential.

Hardworking, flexible and enthusiastic.

Own transport is essential.

Start Date: April 2024

Part Time Assistant Caretaker / Maintenance

A varied role, working alongside our current caretakers. Requires someone who is practical, professional, discrete, and flexible and happy to work as part of a team.
You will be working with the property owners, the Hall Management, the Estate Manager and the housekeeping and estate team to ensure that the main property, accommodation, outbuildings, caravan park and events all run smoothly.

You will need to be flexible and enthusiastic.

The role is for 3 days per week including some weekends.

Duties will vary but will include:

  • Regularly interacting with Owners, Hall Management, Estate Manager and Caretakers and to maintain direct communication and compliance with their needs.
  • General multi-skilled person for household and estate maintenance.
  • Maintenance of the property including roofs, drainage systems, plumbing and heating.
  • Maintaining security, alarm and communication systems and record keeping.
  • Helping with set up for weddings, Corporate Events and all functions including open days – setting out tables and chairs.
  • Security of the property – assisting with the security of the property.
  • Keeping the outside areas and outbuildings clean and tidy.
  • Internal and external painting.
  • Operate biomass heating system.

Hall Steward

Hall Stewards required to work when the Hall is open to the public on Sundays and Mondays from April until the end of October.
Working for 3.5 to 4 hours on 2 or 3 days a month, the role involves Hall security duties, directing visitors and answering questions on the history of Capesthorne Hall and its contents.
